Santa's Landing 2009

It is getting that time of year again. Thanksgiving is quickly approaching which means many things:
- Giving thanks
- Spending time with family and friends
- Eating until your belt bursts
- THE LIGHT SHOW STARTS

This old elf is kicking it into high gear to get the new additions built, bulbs checked and to start the long effort of sequencing. Soon, everything will start going up to be ready for the Thanksgiving Lighting. As usual, the lights turn on Thanksgiving evening and run nightly until New Year's eve from 7:00-10:00pm. Be sure to mark your calendars to catch a last visit with Santa on Saturday, December 19 at 7:00pm.

Oscar on Crack

I finished 'Oscar on Crack', a spooky garbage can for my friends Halloween display. He sets up a lighting truss with professional lights, has actors performing and a haunted walk-through in his garage. It is very kid friendly, but spooky (but not gory).

Oscar on Crack:

Oscar's guts:

- 12 gallon garbage can

- (2) ice machine 12 RPM motors

- Spooky eyes/monster

- Strobe light

- Misc fabricated pieces and wiring

2008 came and went

A lot of new things were in the 2008 display, but alas, all good things must come to an end. The lights are starting to come down and packed away for a slumber until 2009. However, thoughts are already circulating on what the 2009 display will be like (you can never start too soon!). Thanks to all who came out (and to those that were out night after night - I enjoyed meeting you all). Be sure to catch us again starting Thanksgiving, 2009!

Thanks to all!

Thanks to all who came out to celebrate with us this evening! There were a LOT of starry eyed children (and adults!). Santa and Mrs. Claus gave everyone one last chance to get their wishes in before the big evening in a few days, and the Grinch showed his non-Grinch side. The PGFPD once again ushered in the Big Big and his Lady, and even posed for a photo op. It is all a lot of work, but very worth it when you see the reactions of the kids (both young and old!). Once we recover and get thawed out, we will post pictures. If you came out and have some pictures you would like to share, feel free to
